A Disaster Service Center in Wilkinson County is open for residents affected by the May 6-7 severe storms, the Federal Emergency Management Agency said.
The center serves people in the area covered by federal disaster declaration DR-4922, FEMA said. The deadline to apply for assistance is Monday, Aug. 31.
FEMA said receiving assistance will not affect applicants’ Social Security, Medicare or Medicaid benefits.
Applicants do not have to visit the center to apply. FEMA said people can apply online at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA App or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).
