Disaster center in Wilkinson County open for May storm survivors, MEMA says

The Mississippi Emergency Management Agency said the Disaster Service Center in Wilkinson County is open to residents affected by the May 6-7 severe storms, designated DR-4922.

MEMA said applicants should be prepared to provide a Social Security number, contact information, household income before taxes, damage information, insurance information and direct deposit details when applying for assistance.

The agency said residents do not have to visit the center to apply. Applications are also accepted at DisasterAssistance.gov, through the FEMA app, or by calling 1-800-621-FEMA (3362).

MEMA said the deadline to apply for assistance is Aug. 31.
