2024 1st Franklin/Tippah County Sports Male Athlete of the Year is Walnut’s Jack Leak
Walnut’s Jack Leak has been named the 2023-2024 1st Franklin Financial/Tippah County Sports Male Athlete of the year according to a release from Tippah County Sports.
This is the 7th year of our selecting the Athlete of the Year and this year, following a successful season all around in Tippah County Sports, was one of the toughest seasons to choose a winner.
Jack set himself apart with his well rounded overall senior season that saw him make All County and All District in three team sports and compete for a state title in an individual sport.
Leak, a 2024 graduate, is a NEMCC baseball signee and contributed in multiple ways for Wildcat Athletics this season.
Some of his season accolades are below:
Golf: Team- 1:2A team championship and played in the State Championship tournament as an Individual- finished Top 25 at state (1A-2A-3A combined)
Football: Division 1-2A Defensive Co-Player of the Year Daily Corinthian All Area First Team as a Cornerback Tippah County Sports Co-Defensive Player of the Year
Basketball: Tippah County Tournament Champions All-Tippah County Team All-Division 1-2A First Team Daily Corinthian All Area Second Team Hotbed Classic- Game MVP Season Stats: 8.6 ppg, 5.6 rebounds, 4.9 assists, 1.4 steals
Baseball: 1-2A All Division First Team, Tippah County Sports All County team, Selected to play in NEMCABB AllStar game.
Leak also become part of the first pair of Tippah County Athletes to win the Tippah County Sports Athlete of the Year, following his sister Claire who won the female athlete of the year in 2021.
