Man charged with felony shoplifting in Tupelo

Authorities in Tupelo have arrested a man accused of felony shoplifting at a local retail store.

On June 7, 2026, officers responded to Ollie’s at 969 Barnes Crossing Road after store personnel reported a theft, according to police reports.

Following an investigation, authorities took Wendell D. Sheffield, 38, of Plantersville, into custody on Aug. 19, 2026, and charged him with felony shoplifting.

Judge Allen of Tupelo Municipal Court ordered Sheffield to be held on a $5,000 bond on Aug. 20, 2026. The case is scheduled for presentation to the Lee County Grand Jury, officials said.
