A four year old child was found abandoned on a Mississippi highway on Tuesday according to a release from a Missisisppi sheriff. An investigation is ongoing.

CHILD LEFT ON HWY 28 IN JEFFERSON COUNTY
A few hours ago a 4 year old child was left on highway 28 in Jefferson County MS. A concerned citizen saw the child and called 911. We would like to thank the citizen cause this could have been a tragic incident. Child Protective Services is currently assisting the Jefferson County Sheriff Dept. with the investigation.
The 4 year old is safe and was not injured and is currently at the Jefferson County Sheriff Office. The investigation is ongoing at this time.
