The National Weather Service in Memphis said a Heat Advisory is in effect until 8 p.m. tonight and that a damaging wind threat could develop this afternoon in northwest Tennessee.

An update Tuesday said heavy rainfall and a Flash Flood Warning had affected Henry and Carroll counties in west Tennessee, but the threat ended at 5:30 p.m.

Forecasters say hot conditions will persist for the next several days, but a stalled frontal boundary is expected to bring showers and storms next week and push highs slightly below normal.

Ripley Main Street said downtown shops will extend hours until 7 p.m. Friday for Downtown After Hours, followed by Elvis Bingo Night at The Cut-Off.

The Mississippi Bureau of Investigation said the two men were located and arrested early June 9 without further incident. They had been sought in connection with a June 8 officer-involved shooting in Mount Olive.

Cortavious and Cortavion Hobbs, wanted in connection with an officer-involved shooting, were found and taken into custody without incident, according to authorities.
